Sunrise didn't just happen, it took the foresight, commitment and dedication of the joint venture partners, senior staff and the implementation by the enthusiastic and dedicated day to day staff, to make Sunrise the successful group of communities it is today. Growth is driven by demand and Sunrise has ensured that the awareness of the general public to this innovative care model, has continued to see our ageing population take up residency in our villages. Sunrise currently manage over 400 Supported Living units at 6 village locations. It takes a large level of staff to provide such a high standard of care and accommodation. From cleaners, cooks, nurses, sales people, maintenance personnel and the Village Managers, all Sunrise staff play an invaluable role to ensure that our high standards are met and exceeded on a daily basis. Nothing less than total dedication and devotion is given by our staff to ensure that Sunrise Supported Living Communities are unrivalled in the industry and at each geographical location. Steering the Management of the Sunrise team are key people whose experience and vision make them most qualified to administer supported living aged care to our needy, ageing population.
Peter commenced his professional working life as an urban and regional planner, working on broad and diverse strategic planning projects in Victoria. During the 1990’s he ran a successful planning consultancy business whilst undertaking various property development projects, first working on retirement village concepts in 1998. From 2000, Peter was directly involved in developing more than 1000 seniors accommodation units across Victoria. During this time he developed a business relationship with co-director Paul Greenup and in 2007 Peter became involved in the Tuncurry village, the first supported living village developed by the Directors. Peter is very much hands on in his approach and it isn’t unusual to see Peter consulting with residents in his village and asking for their thoughts and opinions about ways of creating an even better community within the village.

Paul has been at the forefront of the development of the Supported Living model in Australia. Coming from a building/development background he has many years experience in all aspects of design, construction and project management within the seniors’ housing and retirement village industry.This experience and commitment has been invaluable in leading Sunrise on its rapid development and expansion in providing Supported Living across Australia. Paul has been at the forefront of the conversion of existing “rental model” seniors’ facilities across to the Supported Living model. Paul truly believes that elderly Australians want – and deserve – a vastly improved model of aged care. A home where residents can retain their independence and freedom of choice yet still receive all the Care they require when they need it, and more importantly, how they want to receive it.
